Re:cast book launch with Stefanie Knobel and Maria Sarycheva

Re:cast is a publication developed through a co-creation between Stefanie Knobel and Maria Sarycheva.

When something is broken, a cast forms a hard protective shell that allows the injured part to repair itself. Breaking is easy, but healing takes time and support from others. Ironically, modern casting techniques were developed during wartime.

Re:cast is also an archive which contains 109 groups of objects witnessing the semi- institutional life of the artistic communities across different regions of the Russian Federation from 2013 till 2023. This is an archive of friendship, joy, and resistance.
