1002F: What's in a name?

For ten years, co-founders Charlotte Nager and Andrea Peterhans built a welcoming community that shared their passion for the authors, languages, and cultures of the Mediterranean region. Thanks to this geographic focus, stories and voices from different countries and perspectives have found a home on our shelves—often centering on themes such as migration, displacement, belonging, and inclusion.

As your new bookstore team, we pay respectful homage to this history. With the new name "1002F", we reference the original name mille et deux feuilles - translated as “a thousand and two leaves” (with feuilles also double meaning of “pages” in French) - while simultaneously opening up a playful space for new ideas and directions. At the same time, social, cultural, and linguistic diversity remains at the core of our concept, and the heart of what we do
