Global Book Crawl Switzerland: We're on the map!

The idea to strengthen cross-border connections among independent bookstores emerged during an international exchange of booksellers. This led to the creation of “Global Book Crawl,” an initiative aimed at boosting the visibility of local independent bookstores. In 2025, the project was brought to Switzerland, organized by the Swiss Booksellers and Publishers Association, and held for the first time. Already active in several countries, “Global Book Crawl” connects independent bookstores worldwide and invites people to discover bookstores—whether while traveling or in their own city.

Here’s how you can participate:

1. Visit independent bookstores in Switzerland—get your bookstore passport, collect stamps, and enjoy the journey.

2. Check the Global Book Crawl Switzerland website to see which bookstores are participating in the project.

3. Plan your bookstore tour on your own or with a travel companion.

4. Get a stamp at the participating bookstores and be surprised by exclusive goodies and special offers.

5. Share your experiences on social media with the hashtag #GlobalBookCrawl and inspire others!
